2017 Canadian Senior Snooker Championships – Toronto, ON | May 19 to 21

 

The Canadian Billiards & Snooker Association is pleased to announce that the 2017 CANADIAN SENIOR SNOOKER CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held at The Corner Bank in Toronto, Ontario, on the weekend following the Open Championship – May 19 to 21, 2017.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

  • Double Elimination
  • Maximum: 32 Players
  • TOURNAMENT MATCH FORMATS:
    • Best of 5 Frames (A & B-side)
    • FINAL: Best of 7 Frames

REGISTRATION & ENTRY FEE

ENTRY FEE: $150

PROVINCIAL AFFILIATION FEE: $25

All entries are subject to the approval of your respective provincial association. Contact your provincial representative to determine qualification requirements in your province. Each entry fee must be accompanied by a $25 provincial association membership fee.

Entry fees that are not collected by your provincial representative can be submitted electronically by eTransfer to randall.morrison@cbsa.ca and will also be subject to the discretion of your resident provincial association and CBSA. Once an entry has been approved and payment has been received, the registered player will be entered into the draw and the fee will be non-refundable.

SENIOR DIVISION ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to play in the Canadian Senior Snooker Championship, interested participants must be 55 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER on or before May 19th, 2016.

SPOT ALLOCATIONS

There are 32 spots available in the draw for the 2017 Canadian Snooker Championships – each province is allocated a certain number of spots, as indicated in the table below:

In the event that a province is unable to fill all spots allocated to them by April 15th, those unfilled spots will be made available to any eligible players in Canada, subject to the discretion of the CBSA.

DRESS CODE

  • Long-sleeved dress shirt, suit trousers and dress shoes.
  • Waistcoat and/or cummerbund with tie/bowtie.
  • No hats/headwear of any kind.

Requests for exemption to the dress code must be presented to the tournament director in advance of any match play.


PRIZE MONEY & RING

The prize pool for the Senior Snooker championships includes a championship ring custom-made by Jostens Canada, plus $1,000 in added funds courtesy of the hosts at The Corner Bank.
